Hee Hee Hee Whooo Whooo Hee Hee Hee...
Well we had our first Lamaze class on Wednesday night. We really enjoyed our class too. There are 7 couples in our class and we're all pretty close in age and we're all within about a month of each other gestation as well. The babies are from 28 weeks to 34 weeks. This week we learned about each other and about the nurse hosting the class and also about the history of Lamaze. We also learned a bit about the body and how it actually works, as far as contractions, when having a baby. Oh yeah and 6 of us knew the sex of the babies - it was tied at 3 girls and 3 boys and there is one couple that hopefully will know next week and they will be the tie breaker! hehehehe
It was neat to learn exactly how contractions start at the top of the Uterus (the fundus) and kind of pull the sides of the uterus up to flatten (thin) out the cervix and then eventually open (dialate) it. It tops out at 10cm and then the Uterus basically squeezes from the top down to push the baby down into the pelvic bone. Then when the mom pushes down - out comes baby! :)
We also learned some little exercises to do to help during labor - which I couldnt do because I hurt so bad - and some breathing exercises to get through contractions. We learned how to count how far apart a contraction is too... a contraction is from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next. So if you have one and it lasts for 1 min... then 4 mins later the next one starts, your contractions are 5 mins apart from start to start.
Next week we're watching a video... on birth I would imagine and we're eager to go too. Jon and I don't usually like that kind of thing where you have to talk in front of people but we really did have a good time. Although the day was extremely LONG, the class was good.I did end up having to stay home from work because I was so tired and achy from the class I could barely get up on Thursday. It was just a long day for me with no nap!
Not much else going on... still the same complaints from me as far as how I'm feeling. I am going to talk to the Dr about going part time here at work because I think it would help me out in the long run with being tired and stuff when baby comes. Plus it will give me time to get the house in order and cleaned up before baby comes.
Well I'll have more after next weeks class, I'm sure!

We used to joke in our classes that my boy would marry another couple's daughter. :) Glad to know you are enjoying them!
